I say this every year.
This is the year. I will be stronger, braver, better faster. I will be more awesome. Finally lose that last 10 pounds of baby weight. Master French (cooking AND the language). Be more awesome. Play more music, play more with my toddler, and my husband. Write a novel, summit a mountain, walk normally in heels. Reach a state of spiritual and personal awakening. Eat less cheese, eat more kale.
I know there are cynical people who say that I will never do any of these things. I will continue on as I always have. Working my fingers to the bone and not really accomplishing anything. I'll never be a better mother, lover, wife or person because I simply don't have the time. These are generally the same people who hate birthdays and puppies. So how do I do it? How do I create the changes I want to see in my life?
I am a lover of many things. One of my longest love affairs has been with 'New Beginnings'. Be it, Spring, or Autumn. The end of one year or the beginning of the next. Or simply a Monday morning, the time to create the life you love is always within reach.
I say this every year and, every year since the first year I said 'this is the year' I have been getting better. Stronger, braver, kinder. So have you.
The first step towards an elated life is saying you want one. I know you do, say it with me now:
This is the year.
I love you all. Be kind, be happy, be you. Share it with others.
